Omron Vision Sensors analyze images to perform appearance inspections, character inspections, positioning, and defect inspections. Ahearn & Soper uses Omron vision sensors in a variety of systems designed to help you inspect for quality and control your production production processes.
Omron Vision Sensors
Omron FZ3 Series
One of the most difficult image processing tasks is the generation of images most appropriate for individual inspections. Believing that the mastering of image processing is the key to solving inspection challenges for factory automation, OMRON has put a number of new technologies into practical use. These new technologies are now combined with OMRON's real color processing, 3D processing and measurement technologies to allow solutions never before possible.
Resolution
300,000-pixel camera 640(H)×480(V)
2 million-pixel camera 1600(H)×1200(V)
5 million-pixel camera 2448(H)×2044(V)
The Omron's new ZFX-C Smart Vision Sensor is a total Image Processing system that includes everything from a camera with an integrated light source to an image-processing unit.
With Omron's newly developed proprietary measurement algorithm, the parameter can be set through only a few steps involving the operation of a touch-panel color monitor.
This “Smart” user interface provides simplicity of usage giving anyone all they can need to perform a complete image enhancement.
The new technology and style of the ZFX-C paves the way to a new era of vision sensors
Cameras with integrated light source are available in a wide range of fields of view (up to 150 x 148 mm), for color and monochrome applications, also C-mount lens versions
Controller provides intuitive programming and real-time color image monitoring via 3.5-inch TFT LCD monitor
One-touch automatic setting eliminates fumbling in lighting, color filtering and measurement setup
Controllers available with NPN or PNP parallel I/O
The original Smart Sensor was designed to be easy enough for anybody to use, and our color model shares the
same characteristic. The ZFV-C Color Smart Sensor is designed with the same Target, Teach, Go simplicity as the
original ZFV.
The Color Filter function is completely automatic, and colors can be easily extracted while watching the monitor.
This sensor is smart enough to handle even advanced applications.
Color or position differences are a good example.
A person can see these with a glance, but it's both costly and labor-intensive to set up a system
that will allow a sensor to detect these differences.
If only there were a simpler way, something that resembled human vision...
Now there is, because we have added color capabilities to the Smart Sensor.
In addition to being able to distinguish colors, the new Smart Sensor also offers stable detection
for ordinary, conventional workpieces.
It goes a long way toward answering many of the problems that today's production lines are facing.
